The Contact record
The Contact record
Mocca uses Frappe’s standard Contact as its one record per person. The same Contact appears in the CRM, in the Desk and in the Helpdesk; there is no separate “customer” list to keep in sync.
To find a contact
- In the CRM: open
/crm, click Contacts in the sidebar, and search by name, email or phone. Click a row to open the contact. - In the Desk: open
/app/contact, type in the search bar at the top, or filter the list by any field (for example Email Address or Marketing Opt-in).
The Mocca fields
Mocca adds a Mocca tab to the Contact form in the Desk. It has three sections.
External IDs
The id this person has in each connected system: Peek Pro ID, Shopify ID, Eventbrite ID, Mailchimp ID and Square ID. The syncs fill them the first time they see the person, and use them to find the same Contact next time (see How matching works).
Each id belongs to one Contact only: Mocca refuses to save a second Contact with the same Shopify ID, for example. Leave these fields alone unless you are fixing a known mistake.
Consent
- Marketing Opt-in: the person agreed to receive marketing email.
- SMS Opt-in: the person agreed to receive marketing text messages.
- Opt-in Source: which system recorded the opt-in (for example
Eventbriteormailchimp).
Together with Frappe’s own Unsubscribed checkbox (on the Details tab), these flags decide who may receive marketing. What each one means, and who changes it, is in Consent flags.
Attribution
- First Touch Source / Medium / Campaign / At: the campaign tags of the earliest website visit Mocca linked to this person, and when it happened.
- Last Touch Source / Medium / Campaign / At: the same for the most recent visit.
Mocca fills these from the recorded website visits every night. See Attribution.
Showing the Mocca fields in the CRM
The CRM shows contact fields in the panel on the left of the contact page. Out of the box that panel shows Frappe’s own fields. A System Manager can add the Mocca fields to it:
- Open any contact in
/crm. - In the left panel, click the edit (pencil) icon next to a section, or Edit fields layout from the panel’s menu.
- Add a section (for example Consent) and pick the fields to show in it, such as Marketing Opt-in, SMS Opt-in, Opt-in Source and Unsubscribed.
- Save. The layout applies to every contact for every user.
The fields the syncs fill (external ids, first and last touch) are best kept read-only there; editing them by hand breaks matching and attribution.
